Paris Saint-Germain have firmly rejected theories that Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk's conversation with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi at Anfield was related to a potential move as a free agent this summer.
PSG knocked the Reds out of the Champions League last Tuesday via penalties after winning 1-0 across 120 minutes.
After the game, Van Dijk was filmed chatting to PSG chief Al-Khelaifi, leading to inevitable speculation across social media that the defender was potentially discussing a move to the French capital once his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

It's believed Van Dijk's conversation was of a more informal nature, however, with the 33-year-old keen to relay his respect for PSG after a video from the previous week in Paris emerged online of him the club's telling sporting director Luis Campos that "this is not Ligue 1, bro" after the hosts' frustrated reaction to Ibrahima Konate avoiding a red card in the first half at the Parc des Princes.

Harvey Elliott scored a late winner to give Liverpool a 1-0 first-leg lead that Ousmane Dembele cancelled out in the return match on Merseyside before spot-kicks were needed to settle the contest.
And now a spokesperson for PSG has firmly refuted claims the talks in the Anfield tunnel were regarding a potential transfer.
"I don't understand why this video has caused such a huge controversy on social media," Pascal Ferre, PSG's director of press and media, told 365scores.
"The conversation between Van Dijk, the club president, and also the sporting director was completely natural and spontaneous.
"Our president did not discuss any negotiations to sign the player, and everything rumored about this is false.
The discussion was friendly, and the club president has the utmost respect for Van Dijk."
Speaking about his long-term future on Friday, Van Dijk said: "Listen, [possibly waiting until the season is over] is definitely the case, so we will see what happens.
Maybe I will run this [contract] fully down and then there is still no news, I don't know.
"I don't know at this stage and I said that the other day (after PSG game).
Well at the moment I can't [see myself at another club] because there are still 10 games to go.
I can't think about what is going to happen after the summer.
